Abstract

This work is part of a bigger research whose objective consists to analyse the memories in fight about the Internal Armed Conflict in Lima through the different meanings about the violence in the sites of memory. We understand that the collective memory is expressed in different dimensions, and one of these ones is the “territorialization of memory”. From this angle, we observe that there are different degrees of territorialized memories, thus constituting the distinction between sites and non-sites of memory. In this sense, we will analyse “El Ojo que Llora” and “El Fronton” as site and non-site of memory respectively. Through the testimonies, registration of sites and analysis of press and academic articles, we expect to understand the difficulties, expectations and tensions that arise in the process of territorialization of the different memories about the internal armed conflict in Lima.
