Los hongos Gasteroides

Abstract

Las reconstrucciones de parentesco basadas en ADN demostraron que los Gasteromycetes descendían de formas himeniales. Pero eso no es lo extraño. Lo que más nos llama la atención, es que estos hongos con gleba no evolucionaron como un linaje, sino que aparecieron evolutivamente muchas veces.Algunos son parientes de champignones, otros, de parasoles, otros, de coraloides.Aquí respondemos la pregunta que nos habíamos planteado: los Gasteromycetes no eran una clase taxonómica verdadera, y cuando esto quedó claro inmediatamente perdieron el nombre. En taxonomía hay una regla muy importante, y es que no se le dé status taxonómico a un grupo cuyos organismos no están emparentados entre sí. De esta manera, dejamos de agruparlos en la Clase Gasteromycetes, y pasamos a llamarlos informalmente hongos gasteroides.
