La familia Salticidae se encuentra representada por una subfamilia en Chile: Salticinae. Ésta está constituida por dos grandes clados, Amycoida y Salticoida. Amycoida representa el linaje más basal (antiguo), y está formado por las dos tribus Huriini y Thiodinini en Chile; por otro lado, Salticoida representa un linaje de integrantes más derivados y está constituido por seis tribus en el país. De las especies sinantrópicas presentes en Chile, en este capítulo se abordarán particularmente tres de ellas: Menemerus semilimbatus (Hahn, 1829), Hasarius adansoni (Audouin, 1826) y Plexippus paykulli (Audouin, 1826).
