Análisis de sensibilidad para optimizar la potencia entregada por una celda de combustible microbiana

Abstract

En este trabajo se obtiene la expresión de la potencia máxima que entrega una celda de combustible microbiana. Con esta expresión es posible realizar un análisis de sensibilidad para guiarnos en una posible optimización de la misma en el sentido de maximizar la potencia entregada. El procedimiento se basa en la formulación de un modelo sencillo del ánodo de la celda basado en la ley de Butler-Volmer que relaciona la corriente faradaica con la concentración de substrato y el sobrepotencial; las leyes de Fick para describir el transporte de materia por difusión molecular en la biopelícula; y la acumulación de carga en la doble capa electrodo-electrolito. Para obtener la expresión de la potencia máxima se utiliza el teorema de máxima transferencia de potencia en un circuito Thévenin. El cálculo de sensibilidad se realiza con datos numéricos de una celda experimental de dos cámaras.
