Abstract

Se conoce con el término de origen árabe adobe al bloque de tierra moldeado, sin cocer y secado al sol, estabilizado o no, que se utiliza como mampuesto para la construcción de muros, habitualmente portantes, o la realización de cúpulas o bóvedas, siendo una técnica con una importante extensión tanto espacial como temporal (Rotondaro, 2011). La mampostería de adobe presenta una cantidad importante de ventajas que incluyen su alta inercia térmica que permite regular las temperaturas interiores en los recintos, el uso de recursos locales que pueden ser de fácil obtención y bajo costo, y su bajo impacto ambiental.
