Abstract

La Ecorregión Pampa comprende una extensa planicie de 398.966 km2, ubicada en el centro Este de la Argentina en las cinco provincias agrícolas: la mitad austral de Entre Ríos, Sudeste de Córdoba y Sur de Santa Fe, Nordeste de La Pampa, casi toda la provincia de Buenos Aires, exceptuando el extremo Sur. Por su extensión, la Ecorregión Pampa constituye el más importante ecosistema de praderas de la Argentina (Figura 12.1). Ha sido subdividida en dos subregiones sobre la base de las condiciones climáticas, especialmente la disponibilidad de humedad y en 11 Complejos, según relieve, topografía y tipos de suelo. 1) Subregión de La Pampa Húmeda: Complejo Pampa Mesopotamica, Complejo Pampa Llana, Complejo Pampa Ondulada, Complejo Pampa Deprimida; 2) Subregión de La Pampa Subhúmeda: Complejo Pampa Arenosa, Complejo Pampa Arenosa Anegable, Complejo Pampa Medanosa, Complejo Planicie Periserrana Distal, Complejo Lagunas Encadenadas, Complejo Pampa Interserrana, Complejo Sierras Bonaerenses.
