Los problemas ambientales se multiplican, afectando tanto a los ecosistemas naturales como a la sociedad, con la pérdida del patrimonio natural y cultural, la segregación social y la discriminación. Nos preguntamos si esto se debe a la falta de una base científica que permita comprender los sistemas naturaleza-sociedad, a falta de decisión política para planificar o a ambos. Se analizan conceptos novedosos en cuanto al funcionamiento de los sistemas naturaleza-sociedad y se proponen soluciones a la luz de la situación política actual.
