Abstract

Dentro de los vertebrados, la Clase Aves recoge una gran variedad de especies que presentan numerosas peculiaridades fisiológicas, anatómicas y etológicas. Esto representa un reto para la terapéutica veterinaria, ya que las diferencias que presentan con mamíferos, grupo a partir del cual suelen extrapolarse en numerosas ocasiones los regímenes posológicos, pueden derivar en una diferente respuesta a los fármacos. Esta extrapolación ha estado implicada en el fracaso terapéutico de ciertos fármacos, en la aparición de reacciones adversas y/o la emergencia de resistencias. En esta primera parte, se revisan las particularidades relativas a los órganos de los sentidos (vista, oído, gusto), aparato respiratorio y sistema urinario.
