Abstract

Es indudable que la escritura de Juana Manuela Gorriti ha signado la historia de tres biografías nacionales: Argentina, Bolivia y Perú. No sólo porque su narrativa da cuenta del proceso de construcción de estos estados, sino también porque las historias literarias de cada uno de estos países consideran a Juana Manuela Gorriti una escritora nacional. Pero esta idea de nación incipiente debe situarse en la bisagra con los proyectos a nivel continental de Latinoamérica como tierra de promisión . En ese contexto la producción narrativa comienza a presentar una imagen idealizada del incario. Los intelectuales americanos construyen un sujeto histórico "indio" a partir de formas míticas derivadas de una postura incaísta. Muchos textos literarios instalan la temática a través de relatos románticos de princesas incas con hijos mestizos, como la novela La Quena de Juana Manuela Gorriti.
