Abstract

Partial results of a 3-year research project studying the performance of the temperature and the relative humidity in the Great San Juan analyzing correlations between the urban index: Land Occupation Factor and Volumetric Density with the temperature (TºC) and relative humidity (RH%) variations from the center toward the urban periphery, are presented. The cardinal sectors with higher occupation area, belong with those of smaller urban-non urban temperature difference (∆TºC); the sectors with smaller occupation area, belong with those of higher urban non-urban temperature difference (∆TºC). Regarding the relative humidity the cardinal sectors with higher occupation area, belong with those of smaller urban non-urban relative humidity difference (∆RH%); similarly, the sectors with smaller occupation area belong with those of higher urban non-urban relative humidity difference (∆RH%). The average hygrothermal differences between the main center and its urban periphery, are very similar in winter and summer, indicating that they are independent of the climatic season.
