Este artículo tiene por objetivo conocer las relaciones turísticas internacionales entre Argentina y Asia. A fin de reconocer los emisores turísticos asiáticos relevantes, se analiza el gasto en turismo internacional de los países asiáticos y su evolución, así como las partidas turísticas de esos países y la relación gasto/partida. Asimismo, se estudian los arribos asiáticos a la Argentina, los requisitos de visado a ciudadanos asiáticos y las conexiones aéreas directas entre Argentina y Asia. La información utilizada procede de fuentes secundarias (organismos nacionales e internacionales). A modo de resultado, se identifican las oportunidades y debilidades del turismo asiático para la Argentina a la luz de la perspectiva teórica del realismo político y de la idea de poder blando, en el marco de la teoría de la interdependencia compleja.
The aim of this article is to understand the international tourist relations between Argentina and Asia. In order to recognize relevant Asian States as tourist markets, several variables have been analyzed: expenditure in international tourism by Asian countries and its evolution, their tourist departures and the relation expenditure/departure, Asian arrivals to Argentina, visa requirements to Asian citizens by Argentine State, and direct air connections between Argentina and Asia. Data utilized comes from secondary sources (national and international organizations). As a result, opportunities and weaknesses are identify in the light of the realist theory and of the soft power idea, in the frame of the complex interdependence theory.
