Abstract

El archivo es un repositorio de documentos y, ligado a la disciplina historiográfica, se corresponde, además, con la figura de una acumulación ordenada, una localización precisa y la representación de un fragmento de mundo histórico. No obstante, se trata asimismo de una perspectiva clave en la teoría contemporánea, que problematiza las historiografías convencionales y habilita una salida contra-hegemónica en la teoría y el arte. A partir de la deconstrucción de la tríada obra/período/autor hay archivos que intentan configurar arqueologías inéditas del documento, cuestionando de modo radical tanto la idea de continuidad como otras distinciones disciplinares. El horizonte de la cuestión del archivo que señalaba Jacques Derrida en Mal de archivo. Una impresión freudiana de 1995, con los ?archivos del mal? del fin de milenio ?que fueron disimulados, destruidos, prohibidos, tergiversados- exige una reevaluación específica del ámbito artístico que, en el tiempo posdictadura, se encarga con frecuencia de dar cuenta de la problemática relación entre las políticas del archivo, la democratización de las imágenes y las representaciones históricas del pasado reciente. En este sentido, el arte posdictadura explora incansablemente la dupla aparición/desaparición a través de diversos modos de representar el "resto" de los cuerpos tanto como las huellas de las ideas políticas y los trazos de una narrativa que se modifica permanentemente.
