Comunidad Indígena Amaicha del Valle: territorio y presente en clave comunitaria

Abstract

En estas páginas se presentan distintos aspectos del presente social y político de la Comunidad Indígena Amaicha del Valle la que, resistiendo con estrategias colectivas desde hace centenares de años, expone su estrecha relación -a partir de prácticas y saberes que denominan como ancestrales- con un territorio al que conciben como jalonado por los haceres de los antiguos y los/las mayores. No se trata de un vínculo unidireccional pues también entienden que el territorio les da forma y sentido a sus propias existencias. Con una profunda trayectoria histórica, las familias generaron una diversidad de instituciones políticas en esta jurisdicción indígena a los fines de garantizar su autonomía y permanencia en el territorio.
