La capacidad de producir metabolitos secundarios carbonados: ¿podría ser un carácter de interés entre especies seleccionadas para la restauración de zonas áridas?

Abstract

El entendimiento de la producción y características de las costras carbonadaspuede ayudar a un mejor entendimiento de la dinámica de los ecosistemasáridos, en donde estas plantas son nativas. Entender la dinámica de laproducción de los MSC, su movimiento y acumulación en el suelo, suestabilidad y sus efectos sobre los ciclos biogeoquímicos y el movimiento delagua en el suelo, permitiría entender su influencia en la provisión de serviciosecosistémicos de regulación, necesarios para el diseño de prácticas derestauración y de cultivo. Estos conocimientos resultan críticos para la correctaelección de las especies utilizadas para restablecer los flujos de energía ymateria en los sistemas que intervenimos.
