Abstract

El Museo Histórico de la Prefectura Naval Argentina fue inaugurado en el año 1985, a dos años del fin de la dependencia orgánica y política de la Prefectura Naval Argentina respecto de la Armada Naval Argentina y, con ella, del Ministerio de Defensa. Desde allí en adelante, convertida en una nueva vieja institución, pasó a formar parte del conjunto de las fuerzas de seguridad nacional junto a la Gendarmería Nacional Argentina y la Policía Aeronáutica Nacional (que más tarde devendría en la Policía de Seguridad Aeroportuaria). En el año 2010, el Ministerio de Seguridad de la Nación reunió bajo su conducción a estas fuerzas de seguridad además de la Policía Federal Argentina y la coordinación con las fuerzas policiales provinciales. Este circuito de cercanías y distancias entre fuerzas armadas y de seguridad –activado por disputas políticas, conflictos operativos y dramas públicos– recorre también por las salas, vitrinas y placas que el museo atesora. Este capítulo analiza el juego de disputas y concordias de la Prefectura Naval Argentina con otras instituciones armadas y de seguridad expresado en su museo orientado, entre otras cosas, a definir una identidad propia.
