Las enfermedades de almacenamiento de glucógenos o también llamada glucogenosis, son un conjunto de enfermedades congénitas del metabolismo del glucógeno. Estas patologías (con una incidencia de de 1 en 25.000 nacidos vivos) llevan a una alteración anormal en los depósitos intracelulares del glucógeno, ya sea en cantidad, en calidad o en ambos, habiendo más de 15 formas diferentes, con un amplio espectro de presentación clínica. Los tejidos más afectados son el hígado y el musculo, pues el metabolismo del glucógeno en estos órganos es muy importante.
