Abstract

Neste capítulo analisa-se o emprego de pinturas como fator de controle na pevençâo de fixâçâo de incrustaçôes biologicas e do Limnoprna fortunei (Dunker, 1857), em particular. Far-se-â referencia â generalidade das pinturas antiincrustants, os principios, mecanismos básicos de açâo e materias primas utilizadas na elaboraçâo das pinturas que se empregam indistintament no controle de organismos incrutantes fluviales ou maritimos. As modificaçâcôes que se realizam en la formulaçâo das pinturas antiincrustantes estâo destinadas a adaptar cada produto âs caracteristicas de melo de inmersâo para que o mecanismo de proteçâo manthena sua eficiência durante o maior tempo possível. Pelo seu modo de açâo, una pintura antiincrustante ë un produto muito especial, jâ que, enquanto a maior parte dos revestimentos é formulada para conseguir máxima resistência una vez formada a película, as pinturas antifouling modificam constantemente suas característocas frente ao meio de inmersâo no qual devem dissolver-se alguns o todos seus componentes.
