Abstract

The present work has tested a simple and replicable methodology to estimate the level of sustentability of the current situation of Lerma's Valley - system or unit of analysis-. By means of multidimensional graphs and the calculation of indexes a diagnosis image of the system was obtained, in a multidimensional frame of the sustainable development. This image was observed then in the potential future evolution, if alternatives of utilization of bioenergy are implemented in the zone. The analyses allowed to visualize graphically, the failings and the imbalances of the system and therefore, to focus towards the dimensions and variables that need to implement policies and corrective instruments. The implementation of bioenergy projects, carefully planned and executed, undoubtedly will contribute towards a system of major future sustentability.
