Perfil sociodemográfico del Noroeste Argentino

Abstract

La evolución y el comportamiento de los indicadores sociodemográficos revelan pautas importantes sobre la dinámica demográfica y el modo y las condiciones de vida de una población, permitiendo detectar grupos en riesgo e identificar a los más vulnerables, contribuyen de esa manera en el diseño de políticas sociales más eficaces y focalizadas eficientemente. Este trabajo, de carácter exploratorio, tiene como objetivo considerar algunos indicadores que nos ayuden a poner de manifiesto aspectos demográficos y sociales del Noroeste Argentino y cada una de sus provincias tomando como marco de referencia la media de la República Argentina y países de América Latina seleccionados. Los indicadores analizados se refieren a las siguientes áreas (1) características demográficas de la población de la región, (2) salud y (3) evolución del desempleo. Las fuentes de datos utilizadas son los Censos Nacionales de Población y Vivienda de 1991 y 2001, los Boletines de Estadísticas de Salud del Ministerio de Salud y Acción Social de la Nación, y la Encuesta Permanente de Hogares de la República Argentina y bases de datos internacionales.
