Veganismo y antropofagia: El argumento antiespecista en Sade

Abstract

This work proposes a reading of the problem of animality in Sade's novel Juliette or the prosperities of vice. This work proposes a reading of the problem of animality in Sade's fictional work. To do this, it examines its materialist conception in relation to the subject of corporality, paying special attention to the hypothesis of an embodied and non-mechanistic materialism. In this context, Sadian anti-humanist arguments are examined, based on a comparison between human and animal life. Sadian animality, as a figure of nature, would allow us to derive an anti-speciesist consequence and, therefore, draw disturbing consequences that equate anthropophagy as a libertine practice and carnivorous feeding as a naturalized practice of our sacrificial societies.
