El ruido, un contaminante silencioso

Abstract

La ciudad es el principal hábitat para las personas y su sociedad. Según López Barrio (2001) los espacios urbanos, creados por y para el desarrollo de las actividades humanas, estructuran las acciones pero a la vez son continuamente estructurados y modificados por las personas para adecuarlos a sus necesidades. Por ello, la calidad de un lugar depende no solo de la forma urbana, materiales, imágenes y sonidos generados y reflejados, sino de éstas y de la respuesta de los distintos grupos en cada sector urbano. Cuando el espacio urbano es apropiado para los sujetos que lo habitan éste es reconocido y valorado y redunda en una buena calidad de vida, y cuando el entorno urbano es agresivo o carece de significado aparecen conductas de desprecio y de desvalorización que deterioran lo espacial y lo social.
