Abstract

Dentro de la extensa trayectoria de las investigaciones arqueológicas en elvalle de Tafí y en el valle de Santa María, la quebrada de Los Corrales es unárea arqueológicamente casi desconocida (Figura 1). Las investigaciones sistemáticasen esta quebrada de altura se iniciaron en 2005 y, si bien las mismasson aún preliminares, la densidad e integridad del registro arqueológico denotanuna alta relevancia en su historia ocupacional prehispánica (Martínezet al. 2013; Oliszewski et al. 2013, 2015). Esta área cuenta con la particularidadde estar ubicada en una posición intermedia dentro del sector del abra de ElInfiernillo (ca. 3.000 msnm), la cual conecta naturalmente a los valles mencionados,ambos situados a 2.000 msnm. Esta situación pudo haber tenido ciertasimplicancias en cuanto a la circulación de gente y bienes en el pasado.
