Los celentéreos o celenterados forman un gran grupo de invertebrados marinos que incluye a hidras, corales, pólipos y medusas. Hasta el siglo XVIII se los consideraba plantas. El público que concurre a balnearios marinos suele tener dolorosos encuentros con las últimas.
