A partir del análisis que Merleau-Ponty despliega en La institución. La pasividad: Notas de cursos en el Collège de France (1954-1955), la pregunta por el sujeto de la institución se hace carne en un proceso concreto, en donde el sentido de mi experiencia individual es dado, por un lado, por la red de intercambios y configuraciones que recaen sobre mi propio cuerpo (como constructo simbólico, libidinal y colectivo) y, por otro, por la re-elaboración que, desde mi historia personal, realizaré sobre dichos intercambios. En el nacimiento, la historia del recién llegado se relanza desde los otros y hacia los otros, ampliando y complejizando el derrotero de sentido que se abre con una vida. Teniendo en cuenta los procesos que subtienden la construcción del cuerpo propio en la infancia a partir de mi entrelazo (y posterior separación) con los otros, el nacimiento como institución nos permite observar el vínculo de la historia personal de un sujeto con la historia colectiva que lo traspasa y lo impregna. De esta forma, la pregunta por el sujeto de la institución será, al mismo tiempo, la pregunta por los procesos que determinan nuestras relaciones con los otros.

From the analysis that Merleau-Ponty develops in The institution. Passivity: Course notes in the Collège de France (1954-1955), the question by the subject of the institution becomes flesh in a concrete process, where the sense of my individual experience is given, on the one hand, by the network of exchanges and configurations that fall on my own body (as a symbolic, libidinal and collective construct) and, on the other, by the reelaboration that, from my personal history, I will make about these exchanges. At birth, the story of the newcomer is relaunched from others and towards others, expanding the path of meaning that opens with a life. Considering the processes that subtend the construction of one’s own body in childhood from my interlace (and later separation) with others, birth as an institution allows us to observe the link of a subject’s personal history with the collective history that penetrates it and impregnates it. In this way, the question about the subject of the institution will be, at the same time, the question about the processes that determine our relations with others.
