Escenarios del biopoder

Abstract

Los desarrollos científicos que son usualmente presentados como un beneficio para la humanidad, son generalmente proyectados en la pantalla grande en escenarios distópicos. Los humanos, lejos de lograr emanciparnos, perdemos nuestra libertad, esclavizados por nuestras propias creaciones. Las narrativas cinematográficas aparecen como un vehículo para analizar los deseos y fantasmas que rodean el avance genético y su poder transformador sobre la esfera simbólica. Este análisis explora la noción de biopoder elaborada por el filósofo francés Michel Foucault (1970), con el objetivo de reflexionar sobre las variaciones del discurso biomédico en determinados escenarios. Dos niveles serán analizados: el campo disciplinario (reprogenética) y el ámbito del desarrollo tecnológico, que recortan un cuerpo disociado de su inscripción simbólica. Por último, puntualizaremos los recaudos que Hannah Arendt (1958) introduce en el prologo a La Condición Humana como un modo de empoderamiento discursivo, sobre el uso de los desarrollos científico-tecnológicos.
