El principal objetivo de este estudio es medir y examinar la movilidad intergeneracional del ingreso en la Argentina, explorando particularmente la existencia de diferencias por género así como entre hijos ubicados en distintos tramos de la distribución del ingreso y que provienen de diferentes entornos familiares. Los resultados, obtenidos a partir de la información proveniente de dos muestras de la Encuesta Permanente de Hogares de 1986 y 2006, sugieren que el ingreso de los padres está correlacionado más fuertemente con el ingreso de las hijas que con el de los hijos varones y muestran un mayor efecto del ingreso de los padres para los hijos que se encuentran en los quintiles más pobres.
The principal aims of this paper is measure and examine intergenerational earnings mobility in Argentina, exploring particularly the existence of difference by gender and between sons in distinct sections of income distribution and to comes from different family background. The results derived from the information of two samples from the Permanent Household Survey of 1986 and 2006, suggested that parent’s income is correlated more strongly with daughter’s income than they do with of a son and show a bigger parent’s income effect for the sons in the more poor income quintiles.
