Anormalidades inmunológicas en pacientes con endometriosis

Abstract

La endometriosis (EDT) es una enfermedad benigna que afecta al 3 - 10% de las mujeres en edad reproductiva. Se caracteriza por la presencia de estroma y/o glándulas endometriales fuera de la cavidad uterina. Sin embargo, a pesar de haber sido descripta hace más de 130 años y de los numerosos estudios que se han realizado para conocer su fisiopatología, es aún hoy una de las enfermedades más enigmáticas. Es un hecho conocido que en el desarrollo de la EDT intervienen una serie de factores y de las multiples teorías que se han postulado para tratar de explicar su etiopatogenia, ninguna logra dar una explicación global sobre su origen.
