Textos, libros y lecturas: variación de portadas en el Cronicón de Cristiano Adricomio Delfo (1631-1780)

Abstract

En la historia literaria abundan ejemplos sobre los cambios a los que son sometidos los textos, mutaciones que no siempre obedecen a los designios de su autor: pueden circular a través de traducciones (de calidad disímil, en diversas lenguas), fragmentadas, censuradas, con variantes en su ordinatio, y suelen reeditarse muchas veces, renovando sus preliminares y portadas, en las que se añaden dedicatorias a personajes ilustres o grabados que agregan sentido a esa página primera por donde se ingresa al libro. Como muestra de estas alteraciones y mudanzas, presentamos aquí el caso de un texto reimpreso durante ciento cincuenta años y caído en el olvido con posterioridad a la última edición de 1780: el Cronicón de Cristiano Adricomio Delfo (1533-1585) en su traducción castellana del primer tercio del siglo XVIII.
