Contextualismo radical: una vuelta a los Estudios Culturales de Birmingham en y desde la Norpatagonia

Abstract

Revisar el legado de los Estudios Culturales de Birmingham para pensar las prácticas que se desarrollan en lugares extracéntricos es una de las tareas que nos proponemos realizar en el presente trabajo. Rescataremos, en este sentido, los principales aportes de las obras fundantes de esta perspectiva teórica/política en torno a los conceptos de cultura, hegemonía y prácticas culturales subalternas, para ahondar en las rupturas significativas que dan cuenta del complejo entramado sociocultural de la región norpatagónica. La recuperación de estos planteos nos permitirá, en un primer momento, dimensionar la potencialidad de las nociones mencionadas en dichas obras para luego, en un segundo momento, analizar de qué manera la perspectiva de los estudios culturales tiene plena vigencia y utilidad como herramienta teórico-metodológica para abordar problemáticas de investigación en lugares extracéntricos.
