Abstract

Semblanza sobre Bernardo A. Houssay en ocasión de haber sido premiado con el Nobel de Medicina. Sordelli se refiere a la personalidad de Houssay, a su actividad investigadora y a su rol en la enseñanza universitaria. El premio Nobel de Medicina y Fisiología de 1947 ha sido acordado al Dr. Bernardo A. Houssay, de la República Argentina, por sus trabajos sobre la acción del lóbulo anterior de la hipófisis en la diabetes y el metabolismo de los azúcares. Este premio ha sido compartido con Carl Gori y Gerty Cori, que. trabajan ,en los Estados Unidos, por sus estudios sobre los mecanismos enzimáticos de la transformación del glucógeno.
