Abstract

El óxido nitroso (N2O) es un gas presente en la atmósfera en muy bajasconcentraciones, pero es uno de los mayores gases con efecto invernadero(gei) y la principal sustancia responsable de la destrucción del ozono en laestratósfera (Forster et al., 2007; Ravishankara et al., 2009). A pesar desu baja concentración en la atmósfera, cada molécula de este gas poseeun potencial de calentamiento 298 veces mayor que una de dióxido decarbono (Denman et al., 2007), por lo que se considera que es responsabledel 6% del calentamiento global causado por los gei (wmo, 2012).
