El control de la heterogeneidad

Abstract

La creciente utilización de metodologías estadísticas, matemáticas e informáticas en todas las áreas del conocimiento impulsa la expansión de las áreas cuantitativas en las universidades, empresas privadas y organismos públicos. Esta realidad genera una demanda sostenida de profesionales capaces de diseñar la eficiente recolección de evidencia cuantitativa, de extraer la información relevante escondida en las bases de datos, de interpretar y de comunicar con gran claridad y completa honestidad los resultados de esos trabajos. Los estudiantes y profesionales que transitan por nuestros cursos nos demuestran, con su avidez de conocimientos y su nivel de compromiso, lo necesario que es un espacio para la discusión de los fundamentos conceptuales de los métodos estadísticos. Claramente hay mucho para aprender acerca del diseño de los experimentos y del análisis de los datos resolviendo y discutiendo entre pares problemas genuinos. Para ellos preparamos, y fuimos mejorando con la práctica continua, las guías de lectura y de ejercitación que finalmente llegaron a conformar este libro.
