Abstract

La República de Bolivia tiene una superficie de 1.090.000 Km2 en el interior de Sudamérica. durante el Cuaternario se acumularon diferentes formaciones geológicas, de acuerdo a sus siete diferentes regiones naturales: Cordillera, Altiplano, Sierras Subandinas, Chaco, Llanos Amazónicos, Colinas de Pando y Pantanal. Todas las regiones naturales y sus respectivas columnas estratigráficas se extienden a través de las fronteras nacionales, lo que resulta favorable para las correlaciones con otros países. En la producción de este libro, los dos autores se han responsabilizado de diferentes unidades: Argollo de las tierras altas e Iriondo de las tierras bajas bolivianas.
