Eustachys retusa

Abstract

Eustachys retusa es una gramínea perenne nativa de creciente importancia en los agroecosistemas de la actualidad, ya que en estadios reproductivos no es controlada, y tolera dosis de hasta 1200 g i.a. ha-1 del herbicida glifosato, el principal compuesto utilizado. Presenta un ciclo primavero-estival, fl oreciendo de octubre a junio. A campo, se observan plántulas durante toda la estación de crecimiento, siendo este el estadio más vulnerable para la supervivencia y donde no presenta problemas de control. Las numerosas yemas axilares que permanecen viables luego del tratamiento con el herbicida es uno de los factores determinantes de su capacidad de persistir luego de las aplicaciones de herbicida en estadios reproductivos: esta estrategia de escape a la acción herbicida en estado adulto resulta de la coordinación de varias adaptaciones.
