Abstract

Las luchas sociales a lo largo de la región durante años contra el neoliberalismo,como su máscara regional bajo el libre comercio pregonadopor el ALCA, fueron protagonizadas por múltiples movimientos que confluyeron a nivel regional. Por ejemplo, en la conformación de la Alianza Social Continental, compuesta por centrales sindicales, movimientos sociales, ONG, desocupados, campesinos, movimientos estudiantiles, comerciantes y cámaras de pequeños y medianos empresarios. También fueron parte de estas luchas las organizaciones sindicales del movimiento obrero nucleadas, a través de las principales centrales sindicales de la región, en la Coordinadora de Centrales de Sindicales del Cono Sur (CCSCS) que se opuso abiertamente a la iniciativa norteamericana. Por otra parte, el Foro Social Mundial (FSM), que reunió desde intelectuales, partidos políticos y movimientos sociales hasta funcionarios dealgunos gobiernos, y cuyo objetivo central era constituir un punto de encuentro de las luchas contra el neoliberalismo y todas formas de opresión.En este breve ensayo nos proponemos recorrer las luchas de los trabajadores ocupados y desocupados en el caso de Argentina, que fueron fundamentales en el No al ALCA..
