Ictericia neonatal: Análisis comparativo de dos métodos diagnósticos

Abstract

Introducción: La ictericia constituye un problema altamente frecuente en la población neonatal. Debido a la discrepancia entre la estimación visual de la ictericia por medio de la escala visual de Kramer y la determinación de bilirrubina sérica, el objetivo del trabajo es establecer el grado de asociación entre ambos métodos. Materiales y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo de corte transversal en la Maternidad Ramón Sarda. El mismo incluyó recién nacidos vivos con ictericia valorada por la escala visual de Kramer dentro de sus primeras horas de vida confirmada por métodos de laboratorio (n= 400). Se evaluaron las variables: edad gestacional, sexo, peso al nacer, color de piel, escala visual de Kramer, bilirrubina sérica. Resultados: Se realizó un análisis bivariado utilizando el test de Anova para evaluar la asociación entre la escala visual de Kramer y los valores de bilirrubina sérica total; el mismo arrojó una F: 4,548, p:<0,001. Dicho resultado fue corroborado por el test de Spearman`s, que mostró un valor de 0,37 con una p< 0,463, determinando que no hay correlación entre ambos métodos diagnósticos. Conclusiones: En el presente trabajo se demuestra que no hay asociación entre la escala visual de Kramer y el valor sérico de bilirrubina total en la población estudiada.
