Marco legal ambiental para el manejo de residuos en producciones animales intensivas

Abstract

Los técnicos y profesionales se esfuerzan por establecer estrategias sobre el manejode los residuos que mitiguen los impactos ambientales de las producciones animalesintensivas. Los productores se esfuerzan por llevar a cabo una producción sustentable.El Estado a través de sus organismos acredita la habilitación y el funcionamiento de losestablecimientos esforzándose para que realmente se comporten como produccionessustentables. Pero lo cierto es que, por falta de datos y de desarrollos técnicos, noexisten normas claras que potencien el esfuerzo de todos los actores del sistema endisminuir los impactos ambientales y aumentar la eficiencia productiva.Esta situación ha tomado mayor relevancia en los últimos años, dada las tendenciascrecientes en las prácticas productivas de engorde de animales a corral (tambo, cerdo,feedlot y aves) y, en consecuencia, la generación y acumulación de grandes cantidadesde residuos (estiércol sólido o líquido) que es necesario retener, tratar, reutilizar odisponer de una manera adecuada
