Recomendaciones para el uso responsable de fitosanitarios en el cultivo del zapallo

Abstract

En la actualidad y hacia el futuro, la producción agrícola debe continuar creciendo, como lo viene haciendo, conforme aumenta la población mundial. Considerando que el área cultivada no variará, la fertilización del suelo, el desarrollo de nuevas técnicas de cultivo, la protección de los mismos, permitirá producir alimentos de buena calidad e ingresar al mundo competitivo de hoy. Las enfermedades, insectos y malezas afectan el buen desarrollo de los cultivos, desmereciendo la calidad −cuando no la pérdida de la cosecha−, o sobre los productos de ésta cuando se encuentran en depósitos, despensas o silos, incidiendo en la rentabilidad de la producción. En este contexto, la utilización de productos fitosanitarios (herbicidas, fungicidas, insecticidas, acaricidas) se ha convertido en una herramienta irreemplazable para defender los cultivos frente a las plagas y hacer rentable la producción de alimentos de calidad.
