Abstract

En una mirada que tuviera la intención inicial de identificar un perfil de los libros publicados por los historiadores amateurs de cada una de las ciudades y pueblos de la provincia de Buenos Aires, se podría advertir –más allá del omnipresente tópico de la exaltación de la identidad local– la presencia de un modo interpretativo común en esos relatos historiográficos: la historia de las comunidades pareciera comenzar alrededor de la década de 1870, allí cuando la mayor parte de los pueblos lograron el reconocimiento estatutario del Estado nacional y provincial, y cuando a la par de ese apoyo fundaron las instituciones que gobernarían la vida política de las décadas siguientes y también los espacios de asociación, de vínculos vecinales, de relaciones étnicas y culturales que caracterizarán la esfera pública y la sociabilidad provinciana desde fines del siglo XIX…
