Abstract

Se realiza una síntesis acerca de las características anatómicas, morfológicas, ecológicas y paleoecológicas de la Clase Ostracoda, con especial énfasis en su aplicación a problemas bioestratigráficos, paleoecológicos, paleoclimáticos, etc. Se realiza una revisión de la sistemática de ostrácodos paleozoicos y post-paleozoicos, indicando las características diagnósticas de los principales grupos taxonómicos y sus características ecológicas y paleoecológicas. Por último se hace referencia a la bioestratigrafía de los ostrácodos y en Sudamérica y Argentina.
