Influencia de la fertilización, separación entre hileras y utilización en Digitaria eriantha

Abstract

En los ciclos anuales 2002-03 y 2003-04 se realizó un experimento en parcelas con Digitaria eriantha en Bahía Blanca (SO Buenos Aires, Argentina). Con un diseño factorial 3x2x2x2 en bloques al azar y tres repeticiones se estudiaron: 1) Dosis de nitrógeno (N): 0, 50 y 100 kg/ha, 2) Separación entre líneas: 30 y 50 cm, 3) Cortes acumulados: se efectuaron desde el rebrote primaveral hasta el 21 de diciembre o el 1 de febrero cuando las plantas alcanzaban 26-28 cm de altura, luego se diferían, y 4) Cortes diferidos: el 1 de junio o el 15 de julio. Se determinaron: 1) Rendimientos de materia seca (MS, kg/ha), 2) Proteína bruta (PB, %), 3) Eficiencia de utilización del N (EUN, kg MS/kg N) y 4) Recuperación del N (RN, %). La fertilización fue el factor más influyente. Los rendimientos de MS promedio general para 0, 50 y 100 kg/ha de N fueron: 1509, 2555 y 2953 kg/ha, respectivamente y, en el mismo orden, los promedios de PB fueron: 7,4; 9,5 y 10,1 %, respectivamente. La PB del diferido fue inferior a los requerimientos de mantenimientos de vientres adultos en gestación. En los niveles de 50 y 100 kg/ha de N, los promedios de EUN fueron: 45,3 y 32,7 kgMS/kg N, respectivamente y los de RN 20,3 y 14,4 %, respectivamente. Los resultados sugieren la fertilización nitrogenada con una dosis próxima a los 50 kg/ha. La combinación del pastoreo estacional y diferido deberá prever los requerimientos cuanti y cualitativos del rodeo. La distancia de siembra tuvo un efecto errático.

During the annuals cycles 2002-03 and 2003-04, an experiment was conducted with Digitaria eriantha in Bahía Blanca (SW Buenos Aires, Argentina). Using a factorial design (3x2x2x2) in randomized blocks and three replicates, factors studied were: 1) Levels of N fertilization: 0, 50, and 100 kg/ha, 2) Row spacing: 30 and 50 cm, 3) Production of accumulated clippings: they were effected from spring regrowth to December 21 or February 1 whenever plants reached 26-28 cm height, and then they were deferred, and 4) Deferred production: plants were cut on June1 or July 15. There were determined: 1) Dry matter yields (DM, kg/ha), 2) Crude protein (CP, %), 3) N utilization efficiency (NUE, kg DM/kg N), and 4) N recovery (NR, %). Fertilization was the most influential factor. Total mean DM yields with 0, 50, and 100 kg N/ha were 1509, 2555, and 2953 kg/ha, respectively, and for the same N levels, total mean CP was: 7.4, 9.5, and 10.1 %, respectively. CP of deferred forage is lower than maintenance requirements of adult gestative beef cows in winter. At 50 and 100 kg/ha N, mean totals for NUE were 45.3 and 32.7 kg DM/kg N, respectively, and for NR were 20.3 and 14.4 %, respectively. Results suggest that N fertilization at a level close to 50 kg/ha is advisable. Combination of seasonal and deferred forage grazing should anticipate the cuantitative and cualitative animal requirements. Row spacing had an erratic effect.
