
This conference paper presents reference database Problems of disabled people. This database was originally created in 1997 as a paper card index. The database contains information on blind/visual impairments, deaf/hearing impairment, mobility impairments, mental impairments and other disabilities both regarding adults and children. It registers publications published in Poland regardless of the language of publication. The database covers 1960 to date, and is updated on a daily basis. It provides details of over 11 600 references on disability issues, including journal articles, books, chapters of books and conference proceedings. Contains references of articles from 560 well-known journals including 117 titles of scored journals. From 27-th of May 2005 database is available on-line from the library web site: http://www.bg.ap.siedlce.pl. The conference paper discusses also methods of gathering materials, database search facilities and plans for the future.
