Conhecimento tradicional e gestão sustentável da água – passado ou futuro?

Abstract

Atualmente as sociedades entrentam novos desafios realcionados com fatores ambientais, económicos e sociais. A gestão sustentável da água é vista como uma resposta à crescente escassez de água potável, consequência das alterações climáticas e dos ventos extremos associados , à excessiva utilização da água, bem como ao seu elevado custo. Este trabalho pretende efetuar uma análise crítica da relevância dos sitemas tradionais de gestão de água, como conhecimento intemporal, de forma a comprrender o seu contributo nos desafios atuais e futuros, através da exploração de novas abordagens e oportunidades, nomeadamente o desenvolvimento de atividades turísticas, de que é exemplo o turismo eco-cultural.
