Un modello genetico per la stima della batimetria da satellite ad alta risulozione geometrica.

Abstract

Nell’ambito di una ricerca MIUR (Cofin 2001) si è indagata la possibilità di utilizzare le immagini multispettrali riprese dal satellite QuickBird per stimare la batimetria nella laguna di Venezia. Il presente studio dimostra che il modello di Jupp, oramai consolidato in letteratura per la stima della batimetria da satellite in ambiente costiero, in un ambiente complesso come quello lagunare non è in grado di fornire stime accettabili. Per questo motivo, è stato sviluppato un nuovo algoritmo per la misura della batimetria da satellite cha fa uso delle tecniche degli algoritmi genetici. Gli interessanti risultati ottenuti nella laguna di Venezia aprono la strada alla possibilità di impiegare il modello genetico sviluppato per realizzare un sistema automatico di monitoraggio della batimetria in laguna e di possibili altri fenomeni ambientali che possono trarre beneficio dall’utilizzo del modello genetico proposto.
