Abstract

il saggio indaga il ruolo dei grandi eventi come motori per l'innesco dei processi di riqualificazione e rilancio delle città contemporanee in un quadro di competizione internazionale. A partire dal significato del "Grande Evento" vengono presentati alcuni casi di studio di particolare interesse internazionale. In particolare oggetto di indagine diventa il rapporto tra Grandi eventi e sviluppo sostenibile. A questo riguardo il saggio si sofferma ad analizzare il caso delle Olimpiadi di Sydney 2000 e del recupero ambientale di Homebush bay.
