La stazione totale: uno strumento all-in-one per il rilievo e il tracciamento topografico

Abstract

In questo capitolo viene presentato la moderna stazione totale, strumento topografico che consente di misurare angoli e distanze che, combinati tra loro, forniscono le coordinate cartesiane 3D dei punti collimati da un operatore. Grazie alla possibilità di collegare tra loro più stazioni strumentali all'interno di una rete topografica è possibile eseguire rilievi che coprono anche oggetti estesi e complessi. L'integrazione con punti rilevati medianti ricevitori geodetici GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Sistems) consente di georeferenziare il rilievo all'interno di sistemi di riferimento geodetico/cartografico. Dopo avere illustrato i principali sviluppi tecnologici e operativi delle stazioni totali, si illustrano le principali tipologie di applicazione.
