Abstract

Nello scandagliare una topografia che mostra tutte le alterazioni del paesaggio, affiora dal lavoro dei fotografi pubblicati su “Lotus” l’interrogativo inquietante se per effetto dell’intervento umano si determini una trasformazione dell’essere stesso del nostro pianeta. E nelle pagine della rivista si avvicendano le immagini di alterazioni che portano a una sorta di nascondimento della natura con altre dove si intravede la sua riapparizione, quasi si trattasse di un oggetto proveniente da un altro tempo, un “tempo profondo”. Come afferma Jean-Christophe Bailly: “nell’attraversare i paesaggi che ci circondano, sentiamo che lo scarto fra quella che abbiamo considerato la loro legittima rappresentazione e ciò che essi stanno effettivamente diventando è aumentato, creando lo spazio di un’attesa di nuove immagini – immagini non tanto ‘realistiche’ quanto semplicemente accordate al tono fondamentale dell’epoca”.
