Abstract

“Recycled Theory” nasce dalla collaborazione di undici università italiane impegnate nella ricerca PRIN “Re-cycle Italy. Nuovi cicli di vita per architetture e infrastrutture della città e del paesaggio”. Il volume raccoglie numerosi saggi che esplorano il concetto di “riciclo” nelle culture del progetto. La voce “Ecologia/Ecology” approccia il concetto da un punto di vista molteplice, ricostruendone le origini e l’allargamento di senso che il termine ha conosciuto negli ultimi decenni e che gli hanno consentito di vedersi applicato a diversi ambiti tecnici e culturali, tra cui il tema del riciclo in relazione al progetto architettonico e urbano. In questo quadro il testo definisce gli usi del termine, i suoi caratteri analogici e le diverse interpretazioni che il progetto consente dei concetti di riuso/riciclo/rifiuto/scarto. L’ultimo paragrafo, scritto da Richard Ingersoll, mette a fuoco il rischio che le discipline del progetto siano inevitabilmente anti-ecologiche, rilanciando la possibilità di rintracciare – in alcune pratiche virtuose – la possibilità di costruire processi circolari, in grado almeno di frenare, se non di arrestare, i processi entropici.
