Variabilidad espacial del hidroarsenicismo en la región lagunera

Abstract

La presencia de arsénico en el agua subterránea de i a Región Lagunera de Coahuila y Durango México ; se na evidenciado en impactos a la salud por la ingesta crónica del agua para consumo humano desde 1963 en que se registra el primer estudio epidemiológico por contaminación arsenical, posteriormente han proseguido diversos estudios que confirman la existencia de valores anómalos de arsénico en el agua subterránea, sin prec isar las fuentes principales de contaminación y ei grado de difusión del hidroarsenicismo en la región. Ei presente estudio identifica tres fuentes principales de contaminación regional cuyo origen es de naturaleza geológica magnificada por factores humanos de carácter puntual. Asimismo determina la variabilidad espacial del hidroarsenicismo corno una función directa de los gradientes piezométrico del área y estudia la acumulación del arsénico en el sistema agua - suelo - planta (alfalfa: Medí cago sativa L.) y producto final (leche).. concluyendo que no existe acumulación de arsénico en leche que represente riesgos a la salud humana.
