Abstract

Esta investigación se desarrolló evaluando ambientalmente el proyecto del Relleno Sanitario de Tuxtla Gutiérrez, para determinar si es viable su construcción en el sitio propuesto. Al realizar esta evaluación ambiental, se encontró que de acuerdo a la norma NOM-083-ECOL-1996, la cual estable las condiciones que deben reunir los sitios destinados a la disposición final de los residuos sólidos municipales, únicamente no cumple con la referente a la infiltración, por lo que se recomienda utilizar membrana plástica para alcanzar el parámetro y así evitar la percolación de lixiviados, y por ende contaminar las aguas subterráneas. En lo referente a la NOM-084-ECOL-1994, la cual establece los requisitos para el diseño de un relleno sanitario y sus obras complementarias, el proyecto cumple con los requisitos de esta norma. Por lo que la construcción del Relleno Sanitario de Tuxtla Gutiérrez, aportará una serie de beneficios hacia la población y al ambiente en general, propiciando en términos generales mejores condiciones de vida, mejores servicios de aseo urbano y una mayor calidad ambiental a los habitantes del Municipio de Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, ya que sustituirá el actual tiradero a cielo abierto.
